We are lucky in Malaysia we get to experience various festive celebrations. Not long ago we were wishing each other Selamat Hari Raya, exchanging Christmas gifts and now, the multicultural Malaysians will welcome the Year of the Goat for the Chinese New Year.
Traditionally, Chinese New Year will bring together the members of the family for a grand reunion dinner. This is the time to reconnect with the family, relatives and friends. Here in Malaysia, we are blessed with a multicultural society and festive celebrations here are more colourful than ever.
But let’s not forget about the less fortunate ones. While we are blessed with family & friends, there are those who do not have that privilege. In the spirit of Chinese New Year, I implore the readers of the Malaysian Medical Gazette and my fellow Malaysians to give back to the community, be in donations to the recent East Coast flood victims, or spending a night to help the various soup kitchens for the homeless. Your generosity and contributions will surely make the less fortunate a little more comfortable.
We at The Malaysian Medical Gazette would like to wish everybody Gong Xi Fa Cai, Happy Chinese New Year and happy holidays!
