Alhamdulillah, the holy month of Ramadhan will soon be upon us and Muslims all over the world will be united in performing the fast and other acts of worship. Staying at optimum health during the month of Ramadhan is important in order to comfortably perform ibadah.

Some simple tips to stay healthy this Ramadhan:

  • Maintain a balanced diet. Avoid binge eating!
  • Do not skip sahur
  • Stay hydrated (good fluid intake during sahur & iftar)
  • If you have a chronic illness, discuss with your doctor regarding medication adjustment and symptoms to watch out for
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, discuss with your doctor if you have any queries regarding your health and your baby
  • Use Ramadhan as an opportunity to be a better person, set targets such as to quit smoking
